This book design is a loving search for harmony in the form of a collection of visual stories which demonstrate respect for the environment and are a reminder that we live in symbiosis with nature.
The collection is centred on the many wasted and wilted flowers and pot plants which can be found in vases and gardens in our own homes and others which were destined never to be purchased which we have all observed dying and neglected outside retail outlets up and down the country.
Plants and flowers are having a difficult time and have been negatively impacted by the many issues in today's world, from the pandemic, wars, economic environments to complacency and neglect on the part of us humans.
The plight of these plants inspired me to create a book illustrated with dried plants in combination with various painting and graphic techniques. The book revives and preserves these plants by designing new and beautiful creations from the decay.
