Vlog life gets real

Vlog life gets real

May 08, 2021

It's been a while since I started my youtube channel called Marcel Bike TV. Without much thought, I haven't even think of a witty name for the channel, used my first name instead - and it looks like it's there to stay. I have my old GoPro Hero 3+, borrowed a chest strap mount from a close friend - and then off to document my adventures! During the first episodes, I was excited to use the premiere feature (it's a countdown thingy for when your video is about to launch - an element of anticipation et al excitement for your audience). As if I have like hundreds of viewers anxious for my next video - but, it is my family and close friends, of whom of course, I am eternally grateful. Now, I just try to post/upload weekly - Tuesday or Thursday some 2 pm to 4 pm.

Along with my vlogging experience comes epic adventures. And with these epic adventures comes new friends! With these friends comes great memories - I may not have documented it all with my lens but I'm glad to have experienced it all with the wittiest, funny and wholesome gangs you'll ever meet. From each, I've learned a thing or two about cycling, and are supportive of my blogging endeavor, giving suggestions and pointers - also being subjects, forcingly without permission :D

With the boom of cyclist comes also a boom of cyclist vloggers! This means that cycling is becoming a thriving community. Just as myself, we all wanted to share our cycling adventures through youtube - in the hopes of getting a wider audience. From the hardest climbs, the beautiful sceneries, and the camaraderie of group rides, everyone seems to enjoy it.

As a new form of media comes an opportunity. And when all of this may become noise to someone - there is a message that needs to be heard, a movement that needs to be promulgated. As wisely said by a fellow cyclist friend - if everybody is doing it, what makes you unique - what is your style? Ideas started flowing like free coffee - with my technical know-how, the on-screen confidence I've been building the past few months, and with my trustworthy gadgets and my dependable horse of a bike - I am on a mission.

Friend, if you are still reading up to this point -thank you. Your interest means a lot to me. I'm hoping in the coming days, months, and years that I am very much amped up on this vlogging about cycling - I will endure and aim to send out that message. If I may not represent it - if one can get to listen and appreciate it, share it, and live it, then I know I've done it.

Thank you to those who have been supportive of MarcelBikeTV and looking forward to it growing. Cheers!
