It's really is not so hard. Just get yourself one LCD matrix from old broken laptop (screen need to be intact) and get the corresponding encoder for the LCD. While you're at old broken laptop, scavage off everything that still works... it will come handy eventually. As power brick, which we can use to power on this controller for LCD. On the other hand... cables for LCD matrix in laptop are useless...
Also you can design and 3d print some nice enclosure for your LCD encoder. And make some sturdy enclosure case for your new monitor - it's a little bit a fragile in that state.
