Ezra 7:10 (NKJV) For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek[a] the Law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I prepare my heart to study Your Word. Just as Ezra set his heart to seek and obey You, I also set my heart to prepare for this sermon and this message.
Lord, may my heart be receptive to Your truth. Give me understanding, wisdom, and clarity as I study. Help me to know Your thoughts and understand what You desire to say through Your Word. Speak to me and guide me by Your Spirit.
As I consider this message, teach me Your ways so that I may faithfully teach others. Let Your Word flow through me with truth, grace, conviction, and love. Help those who hear this message to be encouraged, challenged, and drawn closer to You.
Father, I need a fresh word from above. Fill my mind, heart, and mouth with Your wisdom and power. Teach me so I can teach them well.
