Jesus Satisfies and Woman's Thirst

Jesus Satisfies and Woman's Thirst

Jun 08, 2026

In John 4, Jesus breaks through cultural hostility and personal brokenness to meet a Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well—and He offers her what no earthly well can provide: living water.

Most Jews avoided Samaria, but Jesus “needed” to go through it because someone there needed salvation, restoration, and the satisfaction only Christ can give. This passage shows us that Jesus knows our deepest thirst, exposes the wells we’ve been drinking from, and invites us to receive the Holy Spirit and eternal life through Him.

In this sermon, we walk through:

  • Why Jesus intentionally went through Samaria

  • The meaning of “living water” in John’s Gospel

  • How Christ reveals identity: greater than Jacob, the true Prophet, and the Messiah

  • What it means to worship the Father in spirit and in truth

  • How an encounter with Jesus turns a broken life into a bold witness

If you’re tired, thirsty, empty, or searching—this message is for you. Jesus still says, “If you knew the gift of God… you would have asked, and He would have given you living water.”

Scripture: John 4:1–30 (NKJV)
