Hi, this is going to be a short post as a lot has happened in the last twenty-four hours, and I want to be clear.
Through a Facebook Appeal a month ago I was given the name of a gentleman who disppeared in the Plymouth, UK area, either on land or at sea on a ship.
This gentleman was reported missing to his family in Yeovil, Somerset, UK on the 15th June 1975.
This gentleman’s name is Mr. Thomas (Tommy) P Jones. Date of Birth 8th September 1956. He has two brothers and two sisters. Tommy was a chef in the Merchant Navy and disappeared just before his 19th birthday. His last known job was on a ship called the Northern Star.
Some Mother’s Son’s skeleton was found on the 22nd January 1982 in a field just next to Tregantle Fort, which is just a few miles West of Plymouth.
I had a video call with one of Tommy’s sisters today. For the past fifty years she has sought some form of justice for her brother, and to ascertain the whereabouts of his body.
It is not necessarily the case that Some Mother’s Son is Tommy but his sister would like everything possible to be done to find out. We will help her.
