🥓Trans fat, like saturated fat, increases blood cholesterol levels and the risk of heart disease.
🥓In the setting of overnutrition and obesity, hepatic fatty acid metabolism is altered, commonly leading to the accumulation of triglycerides within hepatocytes, and to a clinical condition known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
🥓Some of the too much saturated fats, like the palmitic fatty acids rich foods contribute to a sudden rise in triglycerides. From this category: butter, sour cream, regular cheese types, refined oils, beef.
🥓One can be lean and still have many serious, chronic and unhealthful conditions, including the accumulation of fat deposits in the cells of the liver that causes NAFLD.
🥓Though obesity is the main risk factor for NAFLD, It’s estimated that around 7% to 10% of people with NAFLD are considered lean.
🥓Whether skinny or obese, and whether you have an adjoining metabolic condition or not, the best treatment for NAFLD is to make some changes to your diet.
