Beyond Imitation: Embracing the Original in a World of Copies

Dec 27, 2024

It was the people who copied me and stole my work and ideas as their own, who showed me how valuable my thinking is.

These people will never admit what they did because to do so is to admit their own mediocrity, lack of talent, and creativity. What they'll never understand is that they can't operate in my gifts because it's not theirs. In the words of Little Kim, "Get your own shit, why you riding mine?!". But they won't because they lack self awareness, intellectual curiosity, integrity, and authenticity.

What's for me will never pass me by, and my gifts will always make room for me.

This is why I put my thinking on my blogs, so there is traceability and also to share with people who need to hear it. It's important for creators and innovators to take their IP seriously. I no longer put my original thoughts out in the world freely without being able to point to myself as the original source.

Even the things I've thought weren't a big deal, folks tried to take and act like it was their thinking. So nearly everything I think...on my blogs. Everything I create is tagged or something similar. It doesn't stop people, but it offers some protection. Perhaps, I need to consult with an IP lawyer too, just to learn other ways to protect myself.
