Welp, the time has come. School is in literal disarray as seniors try to make up missing work (that they should have done MONTHS ago), underclassmen wonder if they scored well enough on their End-of-Course exams to pass, and everyone and their best friend are running for student government. Man, I don't miss high school at all, ha!
When I decided to study education in college, it was with the understanding that I would never have to deal with the petty drama that came with being a hormonal teenager ever again. I am sad to announce that no matter HOW HARD YOU TRY, your students are going to drag you into the drama. Excitingly enough, though, summer break is so close I can nearly taste it. We have t-minus 10 school days left and you bet your bottom dollar I am counting. them. down.
This is the first year since I have graduated college and started teaching that I have actually gotten to the end of a school year and I did not realize how exhausted I would be. Thankfully, I have a wonderful administration team and they are cheering us on the whole way (including feeding us all the donuts and chicken biscuits that I cannot eat because of food allergies but appreciate nonetheless.) I feel a huge sense of accomplishment finally getting through a school year!!
What am I doing this summer?
1) Focusing on my Etsy shop (Arnold Designs, LT) and developing more products. https://www.etsy.com/shop/ArnoldDesignsLT?ref=search_shop_redirect&page=2#items
2) Vacationing with my husband!
3) Reading a gazillion books. ( I have read 14 of my 30 book goal for this year so far!)
4) Taking many naps in my hammock.
5) Camping with friends and making tons s'mores (on gluten free graham crackers, of course)
6)...Starting a blog, hehe!
Take a look at my available memberships and maybe think about supporting a teacher running on fumes with 10 school days left!
