As expected, my new job is keeping me busy. Unfortunately that means I'm not posting here or writing as much as I should.
Here's the short summary for anyone who happens to stumble across this post.
Fragments
Still no news here. I really need to work on the chapters I had planned out before they completely slip my memory...
Dream Demon
I'm up to chapter 14 on Royal Road so I'm about halfway done.
Editing this is turning into a REAL bear of a task. I'm adding so much extra description that each chapter's length is increased somewhere between 25% and 50% (or sometimes even more).
I do like giving a lot of description and trying to make people experience the world, but it feels like the pace is slowing down dramatically because of it.
I will be glad when this is finished.
Beneath the Clouds
If you remember, this was for the Royal Road Magazine contest. Unsurprisingly I did not win.
I had no clue where I was going with that story, and honestly I wasn't enjoying it overly much.
For now its on indefinite hiatus. I might attempt to rewrite it in the future, but I'd much rather work on something new.
Something New
Once I finish Dream Demon, I'm done with rewrites for a while. Future plans include tackling more magazine submissions and writing something new.
If there is a fall Royal Road contest I'll enter that. I'll make sure to do it MUCH earlier though, as being a late submission really killed my exposure.
I read the first 15 stories but ended up too busy working on my own to read more. I still haven't read the winners.
My story was about 250 deep... I kind of doubt anyone aside from the very tired judges read it.
At least that's for the best, as I wasn't terribly pleased with it!
