Jul 24, 2022

Hola amigos! Qué tal?

I was reviewing some of the pictures I didn't edit yet from my trip to Snowdonia (Wales), and I felt inspired to create a new FREE preset for YOU. For being such an incredible supporter of my work on a monthly basis! Even if it's just with the lowest tier ($3), I also made it available for you because that little contribution already means the world to me! So THANK YOU! ❤️

Below, you can see some examples of how this preset works and some tips about how to use it. And by the end of this post, you'll have the link to download it!

Happy Editing! :)

WHO IS THIS PRESET FOR?

This Lightroom Preset is for everyone who loves teal and orange tones! It's one of the most used combinations in photography and cinematography because they're complimentary colors and they just look so appealing to the eye!

  • WHICH KIND OF PHOTOS LOOK BEST WITH THIS PRESET?

I actually named this preset "Highlands" for one reason: It looks incredible with photos taken in nature and with moody landscapes!

The color grading of this Lightroom Preset is quite complex. It accentuates a lot the teal and blue tones of the pictures. But don't worry, I'll explain below some basics for you to adjust this preset to your own photos! 📸

  • HOW TO USE IT LIKE A PRO

Ok, if you didn't know yet, Lightroom Presets are such a great tool to edit your photos. You'll start with a very good base to work with. Many times, they'll work PERFECTLY in just one click, and many other times, your photos may look awful after applying them... This is because every photo is different and every photo is taken under different light conditions, with different white balance, etc.

But the good news is that you can COMPLETELY CUSTOMISE them! You can change everything you want within the preset to adapt it to your own photos.

Because of that, Lightroom Presets are also such a great tool to learn more about editing with Adobe Lightroom. You can deconstruct your favorite photographers' presets and find out how they did it.

I did a tutorial on my YouTube Channel explaining the main things you need to know to adapt any Lightroom Preset to your photography work. WATCH IT HERE.

This particular preset may give you exaggerated blue tones depending on the picture, but here you have some ways to reduce them:

- Play with the Temperature of your photo. Make it warmer or colder till you find the sweet spot.

- Reduce saturation of the blues and aqua tones on the HSL/COLOR Panel.

- In the Calibration panel, move the "Hue" of the "Blue Primary" slider towards the right. This will make the teals bluer and less exaggerated.
