What happened this week?

Dec 17, 2023

Ok, so this week was a bit of a wired one wasn’t it. Todays blog is going to be a little short.

The week started out as normal. Horizon Zero Dawn on Tuesday was as always fan fucking tastic. I cannot get enough of this game! It’s why I chose to play it this afternoon instead of our usual Multiplayer game.

So, as you know, I had to touch grass on Thursday and so I couldn’t stream. I didn’t get home until 18:30 so it’s a good thing I did cancel stream. I was never going to make it back in time. Thursday was draining. I was struggling on Friday and I really did not have it in me to go live on Friday which made me even more sad because I really wanted to play Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Yes, this does mean I struggle with my mental health.

In light of my confession I just wanted to say that sometimes life gets a little much and you want to hide away under your duvet and ignore the world. That’s ok.

Here are some general tips that might help you take care of your mental health:

·Seek Professional Help: If you're struggling, don't hesitate to reach out to a mental health professional such as a therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist. They can provide personalized support and guidance.

·Stay Active: Regular physical activity has been shown to have a positive impact on mental health. Exercise can help reduce stress, improve mood, and increase overall well-being.

·Practice Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques: Techniques such as mindfulness meditation, deep breathing exercises, yoga, or progressive muscle relaxation can help reduce stress and promote relaxation.

  • Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle: Eat a balanced diet, get enough sleep, and avoid excessive alcohol and drug use. These factors can significantly impact your mental health.

  • Build Supportive Relationships: Surround yourself with supportive friends, family, or a support group. Talking to someone you trust about what you're going through can be incredibly helpful.

  • Set Realistic Goals: Break down tasks into smaller, manageable steps. Setting and achieving realistic goals can give you a sense of accomplishment and improve your self-esteem.

  • Establish Routine: Having a daily routine can provide structure and stability, which can be beneficial for mental health.

  • Limit Stressors: Identify and try to minimize sources of stress in your life. Learning to say no, setting boundaries, and prioritizing tasks can help reduce stress levels.

  • Practice Self-Care: Make time for activities you enjoy, hobbies, or activities that help you relax and recharge.

  • Know When to Seek Help: If you're experiencing persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, hopelessness, or any other mental health concerns that significantly impact your daily life, seek professional help without delay.

Remember, taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health. Don't hesitate to seek help when you need it, and always prioritize your well-being.
