Streamscape Weekly

Nov 26, 2023

Hello, hello, hello, we have a lot to talk about this week.

As per usual I will start off at the beginning of the week with Horizon Zero Dawn. It’s been a hot minute since I last played HZD. It is one of my all time favourite games, I just cannot get enough of it. Of course we are playing in preparation for Horizon Forbidden West coming to PC in 2024. You can bet your ass I’m going to do a release day stream of that. I am eagerly awaiting the announcement of the release date.

Thursday… What can I say about Thursday… we finished Cyberpunk 2077:Phantom Liberty and it has taken me some time to process the ending we got. At least I understood this ending unlike the ending we got for the base game back in April. If you were watching or have seen the VOD you will know immediately after I had pushed the button to choose my path I regretted my decision and I didn’t even know what was going to happen at that point. I hated my ending. Spoiler alert for those who haven’t seen the endings (skip to next paragraph):

We chose to wipe all of Johnny and kill him. I made this decision because I never really fully warmed to Johnny. I thought he was a cunt at the beginning an he was a huge asshole by the end. There was some improvement but not enough for me to want to choose his life over mine. As we found out this decision came with too many consequences and it was not worth it. We were in a coma for 2 years and by the time we woke up, there was nothing left for me, no friends, no family, nothing. In the end we just disappeared into the crowd as if we were another choom on the street never to be noticed again.

I hated this ending even though I felt like I would have made the same decision if I suddenly had Phantom Liberty amnesia just because my relationship/feelings about Johnny didn’t evolve like it probably should have. Thinking back on both games, Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty, I feel like, the decisions I made in the base game I am totally happy with, I didn’t mind the ending, although it took me a while to understand it. How did we end up in space? With Phantom Liberty, I feel like every decision I made wasn’t quite what I wanted it to be.

All in all though, I did enjoy Phantom Liberty and I’m so glad it gave an alternative ending that wasn’t both Johnny and I dying in space.

Fridays stream was unexpected wasn’t it. I think I have been saying for 3 or 4 weeks that this will be the finale of Yakuza: Like a Dragon and it never comes. Once again, this week, we didn’t manage to get anywhere close to the end. I don’t think we even completed a chapter did we? We might have at least completed one chapter if I had remembered to save, but, as per usual, I forgot the ability to save existed and we lost over an hours worth of progress when we died to a double boss battle that was intense as fuck. Before anyone (Droid) says QUICKSAVE, quicksave doesn’t exist in Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Dead by Daylight earlier was fun wasn’t it. I said this during the stream, but you really do have to learn how to enjoy the game play regardless of the result. Within reason. We had some weird games and some campy games, but mostly the games were fun today. We didn’t win many but the gameplay was enjoyable for the most part.

Don’t forget no stream Thursday this week and no stream Thursday 14th December.

Pray for awesome Cyber Monday deals for PC upgrades tomorrow! I need Starfield back in my life.
