I’ve got so much I want to talk about this week. As always lets start at the beginning of the week.
Tuesday was, once again, full of fun. Horizon Zero Dawn is such a fantastic game. Aloy’s journey is mind blowing and I know I say this every week but I actually can’t get enough of this game!
Thursday we had a little bit of a longer stream than usual as I didn’t have to worry about my day job. No Place Like Home is turning out to be a fun, cosy game. I’m really into expanding our farm, helping out our neighbours and rebuilding the village. Of course we can’t forget that we are actually still looking for grandpa, no one seems to fully know where he went so we must keep looking!
Friday…. Well, what can I say about Friday? It was a longer stream then our usual 4 hours because it was the 8th and final finale. I was determined to finish the game on Friday which we did! That ending though. If you haven’t played it yet and don’t want any spoilers, skip the next 2 paragraphs.
I cannot believe the ending. Kasuga has such a way with words. At first Ryo was not taking in anything that was being said to him and I thought, do you know what, fuck you Ryo. By the end though, him deciding that he could change and that he was going to work his way up again, the right way, I was a little weepy and I thought do you know what, I’ll give him a chance, I think he can do it, then BAM… Kume… The one time that little bastard isn’t a coward taking orders from someone else, he fucking stabs Ryo and leaves him for dead! Emotions were definitely running high at this point and the way Kasuga runs away carrying his body trying his best to keep him alive. Fuck Kume.
I really enjoyed Yakuza: Like a Dragon. It has been such a good game to play. The story, the interactions, the little conversations that take place all over the city made it such an immersive game and I was truly invested in all of the characters. Although, Kasuga is very quick to forgive, I took me ages to get over the betrayal of Nanba. Kasuga has such a rosy outlook on life which is incredible considering what he has been through and everyone just beating him down time and time again. He always takes people at face value and will do anything for anyone. I envy him in some ways.
I am already planning for the next Yakuza game that comes out at the end of January, especially sine it carries on Kasuga’s story!
We ended this year with some Rainbow Six Siege and boy has it been too long. So long in fact that I royally sucked at every match and some rando felt the need to point that out to me in the in game chat haha.
This brings us to the New Year. What a year it has been. Tonight is new years eve, so the next time I will be seeing you it will be 2024! 2023 has been a fantastic year hasn’t it?! I started my streaming journey on 26th February 2023 and we got our affiliate invitation on 20th May 2023! We started this journey with the Uncharted games. We have come such a long way since then. Looking back at my first VOD we have definitely improved in so many ways. My OG setup:
No just chatting scenes, just straight into game. I want to say my makeup skills have also improved but I don’t think they actually have. There was one thing I was looking at the other day, I can’t remember if it was a photo or a VOD but my makeup in that moment made me cringe so hard, it was like looking back at 00s me and being so embarrassed of how cringe I was.
I have some goals for 2024 I want to try and hit:
Average 5 viewers (currently 2.47)
Hit 175 followers (currently 110)
Have 7 recurring subs (currently 3)
I’m not sure how I’m going to make them happen but I am going to try my best. Just remember, it is ok to not hit your goals so long as you did your best to achieve them. You may have just made the goals to difficult or your goals may have changed with your priorities as the year goes on. I say this, so you guys won’t judge me next year if I fail miserably at my goals haha.
