Greetings Friends

Greetings Friends

Feb 01, 2022

Hey y’all, heyyy!!! Welcome to the Kutana Designs community. If you are unfamiliar with the word Kutana, it is a Swahili word that means to meet, or to come upon, as in to encounter another. It is founded upon an African principle of mutuality and communal flourishing. I love people. I love life. And I REALLY love new friends-like love! That’s a lot of love, huh!? If you become a member, and live in the Atlanta, Georgia area, don’t be surprised if I invite you to meet me for coffee, lunch, etc.

My name is Keira, and I am a handmade artist exploring and creating with different mediums. I would say that I am an interdisciplinary, mixed media, artist exploring different mediums. I primarily make handmade greeting cards, clay trinkets, resin bookmarks, jewelry, and wall art, and canvas art. Prior to transitioning to full-time small business owner and graduate student, I worked as a community based social worker in the non-profit sector for fourteen years. I have a social work and theology degree and have discovered new ways to use my passion for social work, community outreach, and theology to help support community and grassroots initiatives. I am a full-time grad student studying ethics, society, and culture. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE nature, birds, trees, and just exploring the great outdoors.

It is my hope and intention to cultivate a space where mutual support is prioritized and centered. #TheKutanaWay is all about meeting, exchanging, creating, and discovering healthy and respectful ways to exist in community with all kinds of people
