About Ray Whiting
I am an independent art yarn dyer, since shortly after Hurricane Katrina altered my former life when I lived in New Orleans. I've not had a regular administrative 9-to-5 since leaving NOLA in 2006, earning what I can hand-dyeing yarns for knitters, crocheters, and other crafters. I dye and sell mostly sock yarns these days, but can occasionally dye heavier yarns on request. Socks are easy enough to knit, don't require a lot of time or yarn, and you end with a useful product for yourself or a loved one. And, of course, sock yarns can also be used for sweaters, scarves, and so much more. My dyes are all one-of-a-kind dye jobs, each skein individually numbered.
