2022 Preview: Fc Seoul

Feb 02, 2022

From a somewhat hard to predict Suwon Fc to a much friendlier FC Seoul predictable lineup with only 2 places really debatable.

Alternatives/alternates:

DEF: the partner for Osmar is the only one up for grabs with new signing Silva most likely to take it - don’t know a lot about him but it’s not often a Serie A player from Brazil comes over to Kleague so won’t want to sit on the bench - his late arrival will likely mean he won’t play until March with the two young Lee’s competing. Aside from that I expect Kim Jin-ya to try to push for a start at left or right back something he said in an interview recently.

MID: pretty much set with Ki and Go likely needing rotation in the summer with new signings Lim Min-hyuk and Cho Ji-hun most likely. But expect some games for youngsters Kim jin-sung and Paik Sang-hoon too.

ATT: Think Kang Seong-jin will get some game time but Ji and Halloran (no cards) will certainly be given time in this role too with who impresses the most likely to play.

GK:

One of the few nailed down places in the league with a bit of a drop off with the backup. Yang Han-bin 100%

U22:

Side have plenty of options with some talented new rookies too and a manager coming from university not afraid to use them. Spent the first half of preseason only with the young players giving Ji Dong-won, Ki Sung-Yueng and Go yo-han two months off. Current Xi includes Lee Tae-seok LB for the rule with Kang Seong-jin RW and Lee Han-beom and others likely subs.

Sorare u23

FC Seoul can be used as a u23 stack best option (4 players and others) in the league likely to get game time (suwon bluewings 3 the next highest)- def Lee Tae-seok/ Lee Han-beom mid Yoon jun-gyu att Cho young-wook and Kang seong-jin

Potential Impact players:

Ji Dong-won and Halloran are sure to have some impact and have improved the squad. Lee Tae-seok and Yoon Jun-gyu will continue as inverted midfielders and could have good scores while a few of the new rookies have played under manager Ahn at Uni level.

Caveats:

Coach quite physically demanding but seems to be well liked by the players and giving older players time off could have a benefit this season in the early games but if anything might be hard to sustain

Two new foreign signings Halloran and Silva may need time to settle both arrived late to preseason.

Any Yang han-bin injury would result in a much worse goalie coming in.

Prediction:

Expect a top half finish with the new manager only losing once since coming in last September keeping them up. 4th
