About Me
Hi, my name is Kirris Riviere and I come from a working-class, Black, Bristolian background. I am a professional actor with over 20 years of extensive acting experience obtaining credits in film, TV and theatre. Alongside my acting career I am the front man of an upcoming blues band Kirris Riviere and the Delta Du Bruit, our latest album reached number 13 in the IBBA blues charts. I took the opportunity during lockdown to explore creative writing as a way to express my thoughts following personal bereavements. My passion for creativity has been the driving force behind all my accomplishments.
Toby the Crow
What sets Toby The Crow apart is its unwavering dedication to inclusivity and representation. Developed over a three year span and inspired by a beloved crow from Bristol, Toby the Crow is an animated series which features a family of colour as protagonists in a rural setting. The project addresses the visibility gap of Black and Brown communities in the countryside, while also aiming to foster curiosity and appreciation for nature. Instilling values of friendship and community for young viewers at its core, Toby The Crow is a celebration of diversity and the exploration of new landscapes. It encourages (KS1) key stage 1 children, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, to discover the beauty of rural settings.
Since its completion in August, I've received positive feedback from industry professionals. Tom Lynas from Aardman Animations called it “cultural and imaginative storytelling." I am eager to work with a team that holds the same values, for collaboration, production and release. With your expertise and support I am confident we can bring this meaningful narrative to life.
Are you ready for Toby the Crow, hope you enjoy the link to the pilot and additional information.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this,

Kirris.
