Imposter syndrome is loosely defined as doubting your abilities and feeling like a fraud.

Sounds familiar? Well, it does to me. I'm not sure where this thing comes from, but it's my most stable companion in life.

When I was a child, my parents expected a lot from me and sometimes praised me but more often I heard that it was possible to do better.  And it's a bit of a dissonance, why do you think I should always give the best results when I'm "lazy" and "after whom the hell do I take"?

Maybe there is a connection here, you start to expect too much from yourself and throw more and more responsibility on yourself but at the same time you feel that you are not doing well enough, and you don't deserve the award.

We have often been compared to other children, and this also doesn't go unnoticed, no matter what shell we grow to protect ourselves. It seems that those poisonous darts bounce off you because you seem to know who you are and have nothing to prove to anyone. You think so in a calm state of mind when logic helps you, but when the least shit throws you off balance and it is immediately clear that it still hurts. Those darts don't bounce off without a trace and leave you on one with the eternal devaluation of your achievements and comparing yourself with others who always seem better and more successful than you.

Maybe that's foolish but on the one hand, I had the confidence that I know so much that I will do my best and that my work certainly deserves the highest honors and popularity.  But at the same time, I am terribly insecure about myself and my competence. I was afraid to apply for interesting vacancies because I have experience in only 7 points out of 10, and who would be interested in my experience, it is too narrow.  When my works are exhibited at international exhibitions, I go there with joy and pride, but I run away from the exhibition as soon as possible because I think there is no place for me there, everyone is so cool and talented, and they know how to tell about their work, know how to interest and communicate with each other and with potential buyers as an equal.  And do I fit there? In general, I'm like a parquet on the ceiling at that party, as if they all see me through and know that I have no place among them.  They have already flown to the sky, so far, it is easy and natural for them, and I sit down here with my artificial wings that will not fly anywhere and look at them with admiration and envy.

This thing is still with me, although it hurts me no longer, a long time of self-reflection helped me to come to terms with the fact that I'm just a human and that I do not have to carry all of the responsibility for someone else expectations, that I do my best and that my achievements aren't just about "luck".
