☀️ Pluto in Aquarius, My Birthday, & The Mask I Finally Put Down

May 13, 2026

Authenticity is your highest frequency. The mask was never yours to wear.

I made this tarot card of myself a while back and never quite knew when to share it. Today felt right.

Pluto moved into Aquarius, and if you know anything about Pluto, you know it doesn’t visit lightly. The last time Pluto was in Aquarius — from 1778 to 1798, roughly 248 years ago — the American Constitution and Bill of Rights were being ratified, the Haitian Revolution was igniting, and the French Revolution was dismantling the idea of divine royal authority. What those movements shared wasn’t just rebellion. It was the recognition that certain rights are inalienable — not granted by institutions, not earned by compliance, but inherent to every human being born into this world. Pluto in Aquarius doesn’t just tear things down. It insists on what was always true.

For each of us, the house where Aquarius lives in your natal chart is where you’re being asked to release, restructure, and become more authentically yourself. For me, that’s my fifth house — the house of creative self-expression, joy, play, and the parts of yourself you share not because you have to, but because they are genuinely, unapologetically you. The fifth house is also where the inner child lives. And Pluto transiting here is doing exactly what Pluto does — burning away everything that was placed over that child’s natural light, so what was always true can finally be seen.

I just turned another year older — my Sun in Taurus, sitting in the eighth house, which is Pluto’s natural home. Death, transformation, resurrection. It’s practically my address. And this birthday arrived inside a transit that is asking every one of us the same question: what inalienable truth about yourself have you been suppressing in order to belong?

For me the answer goes back to being five years old and learning that curiosity was rude. That asking questions made people uncomfortable. That the safer thing — the quieter thing — was to stop wondering out loud. What that taught me, without anyone meaning to teach it, was that I wasn’t worth being curious about either. So I spent years moving through relationships, making myself smaller, rushing toward connection that was really just two people performing versions of themselves that had already been approved by someone else.

That’s the mask. And I’m done wearing it.

I made a video about this — about growing up thinking questions were weapons — and I’m linking it here because I think some of you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Authenticity is the highest frequency you can operate from. I spent years carrying a wound around belonging — trying to fit in, wearing a version of myself I thought was more acceptable. What I didn’t realize is that the mask was the very thing keeping me from the belonging I was looking for. You can’t genuinely connect with people when they’re only meeting a performance of you.

I’m not wearing that mask anymore. And the paradox is — I’m fitting in more now than I ever did before, because the people finding me are finding me. Unapologetically existing. Daring to be different. Not as a brand position, just as a fact of being alive and finally willing to own it.

The Sun card is about vitality, visibility, and the kind of joy that doesn’t ask anyone’s permission. I made this card of myself during a season when I was still learning to believe I deserved to be in it. I’m sharing it now because I know I do.

If Aquarius lives in your fifth house — or anywhere in your chart — drop it below. What are you releasing? What’s stepping into the light? ☀️

📝 A note to my early readers: I originally posted this with a reference to the eleventh house, and I want to be transparent about why I got it mixed up — because honestly, it’s a great example of how confusing natal charts can be even when it’s your own.

In traditional astrology, the natural ruler of the eleventh house is Aquarius. So when I was thinking about “where does Aquarius live,” my brain went straight to its natural home — the eleventh house — rather than the house it actually occupies in MY chart. I have Saturn in Cancer in my tenth house, which is another flip from the traditional order (Capricorn naturally rules the tenth). My chart is full of these cross-polarity swaps, which means I am literally always navigating the opposite of what’s “supposed” to be there. Fitting, honestly.

The corrected version — Aquarius in my fifth house, the house of creative expression, joy, and the inner child — is actually far more personal and resonant for what I was trying to say. Sometimes the correction is the deeper truth. Thank you for being here for all of it. ☀️
