If you use X frequently.
You'll know that some accounts get suspended without warning.
Zero notice and just completely removed from the platform.
And when I started seeing that happening to people...
It hit me like an instant car crash.
The fact that everything I worked for over 2 years could be gone!
Al my followers, all my clients, reputation.. ALL of it it.
Unaccusable instantly.
And it made me realize that if I didn't have anything else.
My entire business would be gone, completely f**ked.
And this is exactly what happened to hundreds of accounts with over 100k followers
Imagine that was you!?
What would you do? cry?
Honestly I feel like I would a little bit.
And If you lose access to it, you are FUCKED!
And not just if it goes down, but entirely banned or hacked!
Anything could happen!
I had my newsletter hacked twice in the same month before!
If you lose your social media platform, you're basically starting from 0
Even if you have close connections, it would pale in comparison to what you had.
And it got me thinking.. what is the answer?
Simple
Don't limit yourself to one platform!
An email list is great because that could never be taken down (unless hacked)
Emails are a great place to let your audience know what has happened.
Also, start building on other social medias.
Like X, there is LinkedIn and Threads.
(Youtube and IG is great if you do video as well)
Now I will say this:
Have a primary platform! like many of us, that would be X!
But you should always be building on the side for 2 reason.
Insurance and Leverage.
Insurance because of what we have already talked about.
Protection if anything happens.
As for leverage?
To reach out a wider range on Social media.
Why? because your goal isn't to just increase numbers on 1 platform.
But to rather build a reputation on ALL of social media!
Okay so what do we do than?
Easy.
Build on your primary platform.
But build something on the side!
The very best will repurpose content onto multiple platforms without thinking about it.
And in time, you will start to grow everywhere, that's it!
