How are you feeling about travel in a post-Covid world?

Oct 26, 2021

This month has seen many walls coming down or at least the promise of walls coming down and borders opening up, but after nearly two years of living in a bubble, it feels so weird to think very soon we will be able to travel relatively freely if vaccinated.

If I am completely honest I still can not believe that we will be once again free to make plans and the chances of seeing them through being as it once was. Over the last 18 months, we have had two trips cancelled and three other plans cancelled before we could book anything, all this and being classed a close contact after my Perth trip has left me feeling rather uneasy, I would love to hear how you feel about post-covid travel and what are you doing to overcome any negative feelings.

Here are 5 things I am doing to help me build my confidence in the restored systems.

  1. Going away, yep that is right next Monday (1st November 2021) Phil and I are getting in the car and heading to regional NSW, we are going to be exploring parts of Northern NSW and we can't wait to show you all what we find.

  2. Travelling on our terms and taking baby steps, the concern of things closing again is not our only factor here, but as we grow our confidence in things opening up and staying open we will go further faster, but for us, there is still so much that is unknown.

  3. Keep an eye on your government pages in regards to rules that affect your plans.

  4. Use resources that let you know what countries are open, what the level of risk is and what they require for travellers as far as vaccines, paperwork and do they still require quarantine.

  5. Watch how those countries that have been open for a while are tracking and what is happening there

As I said I would love to hear what you are doing to build your confidence in travelling in 2021 and beyond.
