CHILDHOOD BETRAYAL
In childhood’s innocence we stood, as friends,
But shadows darkened where our trust did bend.
A friend, once close, now distant as the night,
Betrayed the bond we thought was pure and right.
In whispered secrets, laughter, and in play,
We dreamed of brighter, endless skies each day.
Yet you, dear friend, with treacherous deceit,
Turned innocence to sorrow, bittersweet.
Now time has passed, wounds slowly start to heal,
But trust remains a fragile, tender seal.
In adulthood’s embrace, I’ve learned to see,
Not all are false; some friendships may yet be.
Though scars remain from days of youth’s despair,
I’ll seek the friends whose loyalty is rare.
For in the darkness, lessons hard-won shine,
And through it all, true bonds, like stars, still twi
ne.
