Dog Husbandry ... FEEDING
Focus as much on when and how as what when feeding the dog.
We want to replicate nature as closely as possible.
dont use or follow a formula when feeding your dog. He was never designed to require specific foods at a specific times in a specific places. This, in fact, is detrimental to the dog over time.
Watch him and see how he progresses. You can tell if he needs anything by observing. If he is lean add some if he is looking like he is bulky remove some food.
Feed the dog a varied diet he is not made for one solitary food item. His system will not function properly
Allow the dog to be hungry at times as nature would have it.
Feed the dog randomly and NOT ON SCHEDULE... nothing in the natural world works on a schedule according to the covenience of humans that includes when and how you choose to feed
I have done many videos demonstrating ways to get the most out of feeding the dog. Its a great time to get in some teaching or practice. Utilize that time to build a better rapport with the dog. DO NOT SATIATE THE DOG WITH FOOD EVER. ...we do not want the dog looking like the average murican human. We want him lean and on the verge of wanting to eat all the time.This comes from years of raising working dogs. I did not read it in a book or watch it on youtube. You can certainly create your own way of doing it, the dog will dictate it, but the underlying rules should be followed if you want the dog to be tip top.
