I have been a 'content creator' since 2014 when blogs were a big thing. That's when I launched my very own 'creative lifestyle' blog.. Just Creative Julia.
That blog has and will continue to be a place where I publicly post my general musings, my creative endeavours such as art and craft projects, DIY tutorials for you to have a go yourself, mental health ponderings, deep thoughts, recipes and my latest journey in discovering my neurodivergent brain.
So, why are we here on 'buy me a coffee' and why now?
For the last three years, since 2023, I have been building a lovely, local, peer to peer support group for neurodivergent adults. We meet in my local home town of Southend-on-Sea. I'm now at the stage where I want to transition and expand it further. Beyond my local town.
The modern way seems to be a subscription based model and after careful research, I decided 'buy me a coffee' would be the place to set mine up!
Introducing Southend Neurodivergents.....
We are a lovely little community where you can find peer to peer support for all things ND. A safe space to unmask, info dump, hyperfocus, be silly, be serious and everything else in between. We currently have 3x in person meet ups a month.
A family session suitable for all ages. Currently in the format of 'walk and talk' or 'picnic and play' at our local parks and playgrounds, here in Southend.
A social coffee morning. I bring my stash of fidget toys so we can happily stim away whilst we chat.
A 'craft and chat' session. I bring a whole suitcase full of art and craft supplies! This is a space to do some mindful activities that help you switch off whilst we set the world to rights!
We also now have our 'ND lounge' fortnightly, online. Another safe space to chat, let off steam, get support etc. But all from the comfort of your own lounge/front room/sitting room. A place to get cosy and enjoy like minded company.
Subscription tiers vs pay as you go explained
At the time of writing, here in May, 2026, ticket prices are as follows:
In person meet ups are £6 per person.
Family sessions are £6 per family and can include 4 attendees on one ticket. No limitations in regards to ages. Can be 4 adults, 1 adult and 3 children etc.
Online sessions are £3 per person.
One off events will be priced accordingly.
For pay as you go, tickets must be purchased in advance. With the option to cancel and get money back 3 days prior to the event. Any cancellations within 2 days of the event will not be refundable.
Subscription tiers are as follows:
Supporter - £3 a month which gives you some happy mail, sent in the post, in the form of a physical art postcard. This will be left blank for you to use as you wish. Either to keep and hang as art. Or pass on as more happy mail.
Community - £6 a month which gives you one in person meet up and one online meet up.
Community+ - £9 a month gives you both options together, some happy mail and the two meet ups.
Any further meet ups for the month can be booked in at a discounted price.
All subscriptions tiers will have access to ND community based resources. Such as ND related articles, free downloads and so on.
