Patch Notes
This update focuses on making FrontLine Lyrics more reliable, easier to use, and more pleasant during everyday listening.
A special thank-you to Warith Adetayo for contributing the lyric halo, settings persistence, and synchronization improvements that are now part of this release.
Version 1.2.1: This release contains a minor text correction to the previous 1.2.0 release. There are no functional changes.
Fixes
Clear no longer starts listening again
Previously, pressing Clear could cause FrontLine Lyrics to start listening to the same song again when Auto was enabled. This has been fixed.
Lyrics are better synchronized
We improved lyric synchronization with the music, making the initial position more accurate and gradually correcting small timing differences. We also improved navigation, lyric loading, and the handling of unusual or invalid playback positions, resulting in a more consistent experience.
New & Improved
Easier-to-read lyrics
Added a subtle dark glow behind lyrics to improve readability over bright or busy backgrounds.
Your settings are remembered
FrontLine Lyrics now remembers your font size, Auto mode, window position, and window size between sessions. It also safely handles monitor changes, preventing the window from being restored off-screen.
Improved Manual Search Mode
The manual search experience now features a dedicated screen where, in addition to directly searching for song lyrics, you can access your search history, including previously searched artists, songs, and dates. This makes it faster to repeat past searches and find lyrics without having to start the search from scratch.
Improved synchronization
We improved lyric synchronization with the music, making the initial position more accurate and gradually correcting small timing differences. We also improved lyric search times, lyric loading, and the handling of unusual or invalid playback positions, resulting in a more consistent experience.
Better Reliability
We improved crash and error logging to make issues easier to diagnose. FrontLine Lyrics can also automatically recover from certain temporary failures, including restarting its audio/lyrics service when needed.
