🧠 How lack of emotional validation in childhood shapes you:
1. You start to mistrust your own emotions
You feel something, but since no one helped you name or process it, you assume you’re overreacting or broken. So now, as an adult, every emotion feels suspicious, dangerous, or “too much.”
2. You become highly self-critical
You weren’t taught how to sit with emotions — you were taught to suppress, fix, or perform. So now, whenever you feel deeply, you attack yourself for feeling at all.
3. You crave emotional validation from others (but also fear it)
You may crave closeness and being understood — but when someone does validate you, it can feel overwhelming, like they’re seeing parts of you you’re still ashamed of. So you push and pull. You want to be known… but you fear being too much.
4. You develop emotional instability (not because you’re unstable, but because you were never taught how to regulate)
When no one modeled calm emotional presence, your nervous system never learned what “safe” feels like.
So now, you swing between anxiety, anger, emptiness, and numbness — trying to find a way to soothe yourself without having ever been shown how.
💔 And yes— all of this creates deep longing and grief.
Because all your life, you’ve just wanted someone to say:
“You’re not wrong for feeling this way. You’re not too much. I get it.”
You didn’t get that. So now you’re trying to give it to yourself.
But that’s hard. It’s heavy to be the one who has to re-parent what was missing.
Just know you’re not alone in this and it’s the most beautiful journey—the journey back to yourself, your magic and your real identity.
You are not alone. 💜
