This past weekend, Unitarian Universalists around the country participated in a Climate Justice Revival. I am so grateful to have been a part of this historic national event. Over 300 congregations held worship services and workshops centered around climate justice and what we can do as people of faith! Music from We Are Earth was part of the resources congregations could utilize and I helped craft the prayers of the people used in worship.
In addition to being a part of the revival, I was invited to lead music at Towson Unitarian Universalist Church, just north of Baltimore. Towson UU was the first Unitarian Universalist Church I got involved with. My first service was in January 2012. Without the kindness of Rev. Clare and others, I would not have stayed in the UU church, let alone become a religious professional in the faith. My heart was overwhelmed with joy and gratitude as the choir sang We Are Earth with me and Nicole. After service, there was a workshop on climate justice and civic engagement. I was able to represent Interfaith Power and Light and the work we've been doing around climate and environmental voting.
