I can’t really joke with referencing Hendrix. If you live in east of the Mississippi, you are probably seeing some wildfire smoke from Canada. I learned that there is a level worse than code red. Code purple means the air is toxic for everyone, not just those with sensitive respiratory concerns. I am saddened the climate crisis has descended upon DC right when they approve of a pipeline and took away some of the EPA’s power to regulate watersheds.
The best thing we can do is talk about the wildfire smokes as a result of climate change. This is a chance to show people the reality AND encourage each other in moving toward the solutions we know exist.
California used to have a smog problem. But that isn’t the legacy of LA anymore. That’s because environmental movements, community building, and coming together can make a difference.
So be encouraged my friends. There is always hope if we have the willingness to act.
Stay safe - Josh
