Solo's Increased $15 Referral Bonus, New Signup Requirement
You may have seen me reporting on Solo and their great app for delivery drivers/gig workers. I was one of their earliest supporters, and the app and the referral program have benefited me greatly. I received a tip this morning that Solo has changed their referral program. I contacted the company and confirmed that, as of January 1st, they changed the terms to earn the signup bonus (and referral bonus for the referrer).
First, the "bad news": Up until this month, you could earn a $10 signup bonus when you signed up and connected one of your recently active delivery/gig app accounts (Amazon Flex, Cornershop, Dolly, Doordash, Favor, GoPuff, Grubhub, Instacart, Lyft, Roadie, Shipt, Spark, TaskRabbit, or Uber). Last year, they introduced a subscription option to gain access to valuable tools, resources, pay guarantees, and more. Since the change, they now require you to subscribe to one of three plans they offer in order to receive your $10 signup bonus. The lowest monthly price option is $6/month.
The good news is that Solo has increased the referral bonuses from $10 to $15 for each successful referral. Solo has also lifted other restrictions to help people qualify for as many payouts as possible, such as referrers no longer having to be linked to a gig/delivery app or having activities on their linked accounts to earn bonuses. They also removed the time limit for signups triggering the bonus. This means if someone signed up through you 9 months ago but doesn't trigger the bonus until next month, you'll still earn your referral bonus. As you may have seen me mention before, I've earned over $5,000 in referral bonuses since I signed up for Solo a couple of years ago!
In speaking with the company, I was also told that they're pushing to raise the bonus amounts even higher, which I believe they'll be able to do with the added incoming revenue from their subscriptions. Fingers crossed! And despite the new subscription requirement, there's tremendous value in what they offer in those subscriptions and, of course, their generous referral bonuses!

Increased $175 Referral Bonuses from AMEX ($250 Signup)!

Chase Bank's Jaw-Dropping $300 Signup Bonuses!

My jaw dropped this morning as I noticed that Chase Bank increased their already great $200 signup bonus promotion by 50%, now offering an astounding $300 signup bonus! If you haven't signed up for Chase Bank yet, this bonus is incredibly easy to trigger: simply sign up and receive any qualifying direct deposit within 90 days. You can EASILY trigger the bonus by:
setting up direct deposit with your payroll provider
connecting your Chase Bank account to your DoorDash or similar delivery app, and making one delivery
connecting Chase Bank to your SurveyJunkie, Survey Spin, or Field Agent app!
Note that you must keep your account open for 6 months, or the bonus will be deducted from your account. Chase Bank also offers $50 referral bonuses, up to ten per calendar year!
Varo Still Requires $20 Spend; Email Causes Confusion!

Yesterday, Varo sent an email out to all members informing us that they have modified their requirements. Unfortunately, this email led to some confusion, leading some referrers to believe that the $20 spent requirement is no longer required and that simply funding Varo with $20 is the only requirement. This is not the case, and the $20 spend requirement IS still required.
Around September, Varo added a couple of options for moving money: Zelle and "Varo to Anyone." The "Varo to Anyone" is a p2p payment method, where one Varo Member can send funds to another Varo member. For whatever reason, Varo didn't send out an email announcing this feature. 
Based on the email sent out yesterday, though, some referrers must have picked up on the new p2p feature and used it to help referees by sending them $20 that they could then spend - or perhaps send back to the referrer - to trigger the bonus. Whatever happened, yesterday's email was sent to inform us that as of this morning, "Varo to Anyone" transfers will not count for the "funding your account with $20" requirement.
Plainly stated: to trigger Varo's $30 signup bonus, you must open a new Varo account, fund your account with $20 using an external source (instant transfers from another debit card, cash deposits, or ACH transfers), and spend $20 anywhere. And while this email doesn't mention it, I assume that using "Varo to Anyone" does NOT meet the $20 spend requirement.
What's not confusing is that Varo offers great $30 bonuses, which are easy to trigger. Spend $20, and get $30 within 1-2 business days. No direct deposit requirement! On top of this, their new "Varo to Anyone" p2p feature makes Varo a must-have app in my eyes! It's now in the same p2p category as Cash App, Chime, PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle for being able to send and receive payments to other members within the app. These p2p apps are great tools for incentivizing app signups when paying or receiving payments.

Vision Engage Sees the Light!
To anybody who earned signup and/or referral bonuses from Vision Engage - aka Velocity Clinical: check your account. After nearly three weeks of payout problems on bonuses that were supposed to have been instant, they are processing payments that they erroneously marked as "Voided" last week.
I received the following email from them a few hours ago, and have also confirmed that they processed my payments and sent each bonus as a "Real Time Transfer" to my bank! These payments have already hit my bank account and are in "Pending" status.
In the Vision Engage app, the error message within the app is still appearing but my bonuses now show "Paid December 30, 2023" (even though I was only just paid today). If your bonuses are still showing as "Queued" or "Voided," you may want to contact them by emailing [email protected]. You may want to also change your payout method from virtual card to bank transfer. I also noticed they're still running their referral program, though it's unclear whether the bonuses are $1 or $5. I emailed the company with this question and will report back once I know the answer.

Times Club W-9 Forms Emailed to Members
You'll want to check your email if you are referring Abound or referred them in the past when they were previously Times Club. They sent me a W-9 Form request this morning. Interestingly, I stopped referring them in 2022 after several months of owed bonuses not being awarded to me or my referees. I'm unclear as to why I'd even be receiving this email.

Acorns just started a great new promotion: $5 signup bonus when you sign up for Acorns and invest $5 by 1/20. $5 referral bonuses as well, and if you refer two people by 1/20 who complete these same steps, you'll earn another $315 ($330 in total)!
Note that Acorns charges a monthly $3 fee after your first 30 days. You can cancel Acorns as soon as you withdraw your bonuses, though I recommend keeping it as they frequently offer generous referral bonuses. To date, I've earned over $3,000 from these promotions!
Important note: Ensure you complete all the steps when you sign up. Each week, I'll get at least one person who signs up but doesn't invest the $5 to trigger the signup and referral bonuses. I'm not sure why because it's a straightforward, simple process.
