Bits of Suck
I'm normally a positive person, though I tell you, some of these apps have me SMDH, lately. RWN supporter, Kellan Mitchell, reached out to me after they suddenly couldn't log into their Bits of Stock account, and the "reset password" feature wasn't working. Kellan asked if I was experiencing the same thing. I checked, and I wasn't. What I DID realize is that the nearly $200 in cash that I had in my account was suddenly missing!
A quick rewind: Bits of Stock is a stock rewards app that hit Referral World the end of March. They ran a $5 signup and referral bonus promotion. At first, everything was running smoothly. I personally received $200 in referral bonuses in a relatively short amount of time. Then it reached a dead stop. I went from getting bonuses every day, to not getting a single bonus for weeks. Knowing I was far from their $500 referral bonus cap, I reached out to them and got the typical runaround these app support teams like to give, but I wasn't having it. After a couple weeks of replies back and forth, Bits of Stock admitted that there was a global bug and referrals had not been getting tracked properly. When asked what they'd be doing to remedy the issue and compensate signups and referrers for lost bonuses, they replied that there was nothing they could - or would - do.
I personally stopped promoting Bits of Stock 1-2 months ago. And a few weeks back, I sold my reward stocks (approx. value $190). When the sale completed, I attempted to withdraw but an in-app message informed me that I can't withdraw funds from within the app; I have to email Bits of Stock to withdraw the funds. With everything else going on in Referral World, I didn't check the app for around a week, until Kellan reached out, and I noticed all my cash is missing. The only thing remaining is $11 in pending reward stock claims, that have been pending for a few weeks.
I reached out to Bits of Stock yesterday morning, but have yet to receive a response.

A Sharp, Steady Decline
If you refer Steady, you're familiar with their referral bonus program: get $10 for every successful referral. Paid out weekly, on Friday, around noon (Pacific time). Last week, I noticed that I hadn't been getting any "paydays" from Steady since the first week of August. I emailed [email protected] but never heard back. Since that email, there were a few changes in the app which I assumed would be for the better:
1) The referral links changed;
2) They added referral tracking in the app.
On Monday and Tuesday, I received "congratulations" emails, stating that I'd earned individual referral bonuses and would be receiving the bonuses within 24 hours. This would've been great news, only I never received the bonuses. And their referral tracking feature appears to not work, as it says I have no referrals. I sent more emails to Steady support throughout the week, each time inquiring about their issues along with urging them to "please respond." As I write this article, on what has always been a Steady payday, I've still received nothing from Steady. No replies. No bonuses. I reached out to fellow referrers today and have heard nearly identical stories from each of them.
I recommend until Steady once again lives up to their name, anybody considering signing up for them holds off until they fix what's currently broken.

STEEEERIKE TWO!
Strike is, for the second time, requiring a deposit to trigger their $11 instant signup bonus ($10 when you sign up and deposit $1+, and an additional $1 when you join their debit card waitlist). When they first required a deposit in mid-July, that requirement only lasted a few days before they returned to their "no deposit required" promo.

Solo Fixes DoorDash Data Scanning Issues
The delivery/gig-workers app, Solo, has been having issues scanning DoorDash data for members since May. Solo sent out an email today letting us know that the issues have been resolved. All DoorDash-related mileage and activities will populate in the Solo app within 48 hours after completion. Solo is working to bring that down to within 24 hours. Also, Solo's Pay Guarantee program for DoorDash will be available beginning Monday, August 29th.

Not to Sound Like a Dead Horse
The neighbors had us over for dinner last night, and during our conversation, I prefaced whatever I was talking about with, "not to beat a broken record..." It dawned on me today how I butchered the actual saying, and I want to be clear that I wouldn't beat a non-broken record, either. That said, I think I'll be adding both these phrases to my arsenal of JJ-isms.
So, not to sound like a dead horse, but here are some recaps and updates:
Both Varo's $50 bonus promotion and Upgrade's $100 bonus promotion end on 8/31. These are both fantastic bonuses and are easy to trigger (no direct deposit bonus, minimum spend amounts required, etc.). If you haven't signed up yet, I hope you'll consider using my links to sign up (click on the name of the bank you want to sign up for). And if you already have one or both, I encourage you to refer them while you still can!
Steady added referral tracking and new links in both versions of the app. Additionally, I received a few individual referral bonuses the past few days, which I normally wouldn't get until Friday (they previously paid out weekly). I've reached out to Steady support multiple times over the past several days but have yet to get a reply. And today, I noticed that their new links have changed again, with extra characters at the end of the link (presumably for tracking purposes). So, instead of my link being just https://share.steadyapp.com/John52 , it's now https://share.steadyapp.com/John52+c42c03e894!a . With all the changes, I'm hoping they will soon add a signup bonus (currently, Steady only offers referral bonuses).
For PointCard members: our cards stopped working today (they sent out a reminder yesterday). And any automatic payments you have set will not process, either. Again, PointCard accounts will be disabled on 9/8/22
For Nearside members: Nearside switched to banking host Piedmont Bank, and are requiring members to agree to the new terms before sending out our new debit cards. You should have received the email that contains the link to activate

Steady Referral Tracking Now on Android!

Yesterday, I reported on Steady's new referral tracking feature, along with the new referral link for them. Both were iOS only. Late last night, I checked my Android app and see that both are now available there, as well. 
It also appears Steady is working out kinks and/or changing their payout schedule. Up until now, Steady has paid all referral bonuses out weekly on Fridays, around noon PT. After I started sharing my new link yesterday, I received two individual referral bonuses overnight (on a Monday). The referral tracking still shows, "no shares", though. I reached out to support and will update this story once I hear back (I'm still waiting for a response from my previous requests on Friday and yesterday).

Steady Referral Tracking, New Link (iOS Only)

Do you have Steady? If you do, and you have use the iOS (iPhone/iPad) version, you may have already noticed that you have a new referral link, and you also have a referral tracking feature in the app. Sorry, Android users... your version of the app is still showing the same referral link you've had, and no referral tracking, yet.
Since I have both Android and iOS, I was able to retrieve my new link and grab screenshots of the tracking. One thing I noticed is how none of my signups to date are listed in the "shares" section, though they are reflected in the total earned. I suspect this is due to only the new link having tracking enabled.
I also reached out to customer support to ensure that our original links are still working as expected, now that we have these new versions of the link. I will post an update once they respond.
