BeFrugal's Limited-Time $40 Referral Bonuses!

https://www.befrugal.com/rs/PKCSCTA/

BeFrugal, a leading cashback site, app and extension, just quadrupled their referral bonuses! For a limited time, you'll get a $40 referral bonus for every person who joins BeFrugal using your referral link and earns $10 or more in cash back within a year.

If you haven't signed up for BeFrugal, see my featured post here. I've used BeFrugal for years to earn cash back while scoring deals online. BeFrugal has an "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau and a 4.5/5 rating on TrustPilot!

Be Careful with Monzo!

Monzo is a banking app that went viral a few months ago with their instant signup and referral bonuses. I've written articles on and promoted them a few times, most recently the other day when their "Spend $10, get $20" promotion returned. This promotion is currently one of the best and easiest promotions in Referral World.

Having said that, I also learned just how shifty Monzo appears to operate. Out of nowhere, they disabled my referral link the other day, just after the new promotion started. This was after I received three phone notifications from them alerting me that I earned three $20 referral bonuses, but when going into the app, none of these bonuses were reflected in my balance. When I clicked on my referral icon, I was met with the notification below, telling me that they shut down my ability to refer, citing no specifics but stating that they emailed me the reason(s). Despite this notification, I received no email from them, and still havent.

I also learned that this appears to be common practice from Monzo. In my referral circle of friends, it turns out that several of them have also had their referral links revoked with no reason given. And when each reached out to Monzo, Monzo refused to give them a reason, simply telling them their decision was final. According to one referrer I spoke with, they closed her account and refunded only a portion of her checking account balance, keeping most of the referral bonuses she had earned. This appears to be so common, that there's a dedicated Facebook group named, "Monzo Stole Our Money," with over 18,000 members.

Based on my conversations, I don't know if I will be wasting my time trying to reactivate my referral link. I don't want to steer you away from Monzo because they're not the only company that pulls these stunts. SoFi is also known for revoking referral links because referrers dared to, well, refer. But please keep this in mind if you sign up, and especially if you refer the app. Consider removing your bonuses regularly, and be prepared to have your link disabled at any given time.

Stimulus Is Back (but Beware of Deceptive Promotors)!

https://www.stimulus.com/ref/gregory_2

Stimulus is one of the most viral apps to have hit Referral World this past year. I still haven't signed up for it, and I don't have a good reason for that. That said, Stimulus has proven themselves legit, has paid out and, to my knowledge, have had few complaints from referrers.

That said, one thing I have seen a lot of is how several in Referral World have been deceptively promoting Stimulus. You see, Stimulus offers $10 referral bonuses, but they offer no signup bonus. Also, not everybody gets a referral link right away. Based on what people have gathered, a person signing up is more likely to get a referral link by verifying their account and identity, adding their photo to their profile ASAP, participating in Stimulus giveaways, and engaging on the site. Based on what I've gathered from these reports, some still don't get a link right away but get a link when the next Stimulus promotion comes around. Stimulus pays by sending straight cash by UPS or USPS. Referrers who earn over $1,000 from Stimulus can opt for bank deposits.

Look in any referral group these days; you'll see dozens of posts promoting Stimulus in a single day. Many of the posts (and their authors) are promoting Stimuls correctly. But you'll most likely find a handful of others blatantly misrepresenting the promotion, whether it's through flat-out deception (i.e., "we both get bonuses") or lies of omission (i.e., "just sign up and verify for your bonuses")., or next-to-nothing information (i.e., "I made $360 in an hour. Here's my link.").

This greedy behavior from those who don't reveal the promotional info and requirements - likely worried that doing so will lose them signups - has led to many people feeling duped (rightly so). These people signed up expecting a signup bonus and/or their own referral link.

Having said all that, I strongly advocate rewarding those who accurately promote apps and bonuses, who have integrity and take pride in their role in Referral World. One such individual is RWN supporter Greg Darby. If you haven't signed up for Stimulus yet and would like to, please consider using his link: https://www.stimulus.com/ref/gregory_2

"Iffy" App Sightings

A series of new apps have been hitting Referral World in recent days. It's too early to tell if these are ultimately fly-by-nighters or worthwhile. For now, I'm considering these to be "iffy" apps for the reasons listed below:
Pillar

Late last week, a handful of folks started to post a signup bonus opportunity where you supposedly can make $50 within 45 minutes by recording short 3-5 second sentences, along with $5 referral bonuses. Some referrers have been promoting it as "complete one survey," and all of the posts I've seen promoted it as available to everybody. I reached out to a fellow referrer who had just started to promote it, themselves, and was told that the promotion is only available to people of color, that all surveys must be completed to earn the bonus, and that each person can only receive a maximum of two referral bonuses.

Since I originally saw the posts, I'm only seeing 1-2 people still posting Pillar; those referrers still aren't including any of this information.

Dingdoor

Yesterday, A new app called Dingdoor was shared by many, appearing to offer no signup bonus but $10 Amazon gift cards for every five referrals. This quickly fizzled out in referral groups, and I read in a few community chats that the app wasn't paying. I haven't seen any updates since, but I haven't seen any new posts for the app today.

HireRewards

I saw a few posts today for something called "HireRewards" that's apparently offering $5 referral bonuses, and pays to fill out job applications. Posts are starting that three applications require completion to cash out. No pay proof as of yet.

Invisibly

This app started to go viral on 3/1 with their instant $5 gift card bonuses. I can only assume this was shut down because the people who posted the promotion days ago haven't mentioned anything about it since.

Do you have any information on these or other brand-new apps/promotions you've seen recently? Please email me and let me know!
