Steer Clear of Blossom Social!
Last week, I covered Blossom Social and raised concerns about their business practices and referral program, including reports of difficult trial cancellations and the security risk of being asked for a Webull trading password. Those were already red flags. What’s happened since makes it worse.
A trusted referrer I mentioned in that piece, Michelle Renee, earned more than $4,000 in legitimate referral bonuses that Blossom Social refused to pay. Instead, they shut down her referral link, accused her of scamming, and of paying people to sign up, which is entirely false. Another user reported losing her account over $55 in referral earnings, and others have shared similar stories in private groups and threads.
It’s now clear that Blossom Social is denying owed bonuses and shutting down accounts to avoid paying referrers. Combined with the earlier issues around trial billing and login security, this shows a pattern of behavior that users should not trust.
If you have already joined, take screenshots of your account and referrals. If you haven’t, don’t bother. Blossom Social is not honoring its referral program. Until there’s proof that they have paid the bonuses owed and made things right for the referrers they falsely accused, this app should be avoided.
No Kings Day – Stand With Democracy, Stay Safe, Stay Visible!
Today, October 18, 2025, people across all 50 states and in allied communities worldwide are gathering again for the second wave of the “No Kings” protests, a national call to defend democracy, accountability, and the rule of law. Organizers have confirmed more than 2,600 planned events across the country, with companion demonstrations unfolding in cities such as London, Brussels, Barcelona, and Vancouver in solidarity with Americans calling for civic oversight and shared democratic values. From Washington D.C. to Los Angeles, from small towns to campuses, the message is unified: no one in government is above the people.
This year’s protests come at a tense national moment. The government shutdown has stretched into its third week. Health care protections are under threat. Essential programs have gone dark. At the same time, the current administration and its allies are trying to rebrand these demonstrations as something sinister, calling them the “Hate America Tour.”
The Rebranding: A False Narrative
Some in power are trying to divide Americans and twist the meaning of these protests by labeling peaceful demonstrations as “anti-American.” That framing is misleading and dangerous.
It treats dissent as disloyalty and paints citizens using their constitutional rights as enemies of the state.
The First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and the right to assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances. A peaceful protest is not hate. It is an act of patriotism.
Protesting for fairness, transparency, and accountability isn’t unpatriotic. It reflects exactly what this nation was founded on: the right of the people to hold our government accountable.
When those in power conflate civic action with disloyalty, it reminds us why these protests exist in the first place. The true test of democracy is whether it can tolerate criticism and self-correction.
Another troubling dimension of the narrative around the No Kings protests is how they are being misrepresented by senior officials and right-wing media. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt recently declared that “the Democrat Party’s main constituency is made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals.” Such language brands an entire political coalition as extremist. At the same time, protesters have been accused of being paid agitators or aligned with what the administration calls the “Antifa terrorist organization.”
In reality, multiple independent fact-checks confirm that there is no credible evidence that protesters are being paid to attend these events and that Antifa is not a centralized organization but a broad term describing anti-fascist activism ("Antifa" = "Anti-Fascist"). To be anti-fascist is simply to oppose authoritarianism and political violence, a principle that should unite, not divide, Americans. When civic expression is labeled as terrorism and dissent is dismissed as foreign manipulation, it threatens the very rights that define a free nation.
The Backdrop: Shutdown, Health Care, and Other Battles
This movement is not happening in isolation. The energy in the streets reflects deep frustration over mounting national strain:
Government Shutdown: Federal agencies remain closed or limited as the shutdown continues. Millions of workers are furloughed, and vital services are delayed or halted. Families are waiting on paychecks, and essential programs are running out of funds.
Health Care: Ongoing budget standoffs are threatening affordable care. Expiring subsidies will result in higher premiums, and key telehealth provisions will also expire unless Congress takes action.
Food and Safety Programs: Millions of Americans relying on SNAP and other support programs are facing cuts. Many health and safety agencies are understaffed or partially closed.
Public Trust: Each week of shutdown and political gridlock erodes confidence in government. It is this growing distrust, not the protests, that weakens the country.
Immigration Crackdowns and ICE Deployments
Reports from multiple credible outlets show a troubling expansion of federal enforcement in several Democratic-led states. ICE agents have been deployed under claims of rising unrest and criminal activity, but local officials report the operations often target peaceful gatherings and neighborhoods instead.
In Chicago, witnesses described late-night raids where agents zip-tied adults and children and detained citizens without clear cause. Federal investigators are now reviewing these incidents, and courts in several states have ordered tighter limits on federal actions within local jurisdictions.
In Portland, demonstrations have remained largely peaceful, with many participants wearing inflatable costumes, waving flags, and using creative performance art to promote nonviolence. Yet federal agencies have cited the city in their reports as a so-called hotspot of “domestic disorder,” despite no verified evidence of widespread unrest. Portland’s residents and officials say the mischaracterization is being used to justify unnecessary federal deployments and paint civic participation as chaos.
Civil rights groups and former military officers warn that these moves resemble groundwork for invoking the Insurrection Act of 1807, a law that allows the use of military force within U.S. borders. Experts caution that invoking it under false pretenses could be used to suppress dissent, delay elections, or centralize power in ways that undermine constitutional democracy.
The use of immigration enforcement to intimidate communities or justify military-style actions is not only anti-democratic but fundamentally anti-American. It replaces the promise of equal protection with fear, setting a precedent that weakens the very freedoms the nation was founded to protect.
The Constitution Is Under Attack
The First Amendment, the foundation of every other freedom, is now under direct threat. The administration’s new policy, which requires journalists affiliated with the Pentagon to publish only information approved in advance by the government, strikes at the core of the Constitution itself. This kind of state-controlled communication exists in countries such as China and North Korea, not in a nation built on free expression, transparency, and a press that holds power accountable.
Under the new rules:
Reporters are being asked to sign pledges not to publish unauthorized information, even unclassified material, unless Pentagon officials have formally cleared it.
Journalists who refuse to comply risk losing their press credentials, being denied access, or being labeled as security threats.
Major television networks across the political spectrum, including Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, ABC News, CBS News, and NBC News, have all refused to sign the agreement.
In protest, dozens of reporters from major outlets have surrendered their Pentagon press badges rather than agree to what many view as a gag order.
The FCC has also come under fire for interfering with broadcast content. Its chair reportedly pressured ABC to suspend Jimmy Kimmel Live! after politically charged remarks, warning affiliates of potential penalties if they continued airing the program. Public backlash led ABC to reverse the suspension and return the show to air.
At CBS, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was abruptly slated for cancellation just days after Colbert publicly criticized his parent company’s settlement with Donald Trump. CBS called the decision financial, but its timing raised serious questions about political pressure and the chilling effect of corporate influence on free expression.
Why this is deeply troubling:
When the government requires approval before reporting, that is prior restraint, one of the most serious violations of press freedom prohibited by the Constitution.
Independent journalism acts as a check on power. If the press becomes a mouthpiece for official messaging, oversight disappears.
Policies like this spoon-feed the public only what the government wants revealed, silencing uncomfortable truths.
The First Amendment protects not just speech but inquiry, investigation, and challenge. Democracy depends on those freedoms remaining unrestricted.
This is not about access. It is about the foundation of free government itself, the public’s right to know, and the press’s duty to tell the truth.
Protests That Changed the Course of a Nation
Throughout American history, peaceful protest has been one of the most powerful forces for real and lasting change. The Boston Tea Party of 1773 sparked a revolution by challenging taxation without representation and asserting the people's right to hold our government accountable. The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom in 1963 united hundreds of thousands of people behind a call for equality and opportunity, paving the way for the passage of the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act. The first Earth Day in 1970 mobilized more than 20 million Americans to demand environmental action, leading to the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of landmark environmental laws. Hands Across America in 1986 showed how collective compassion could raise national awareness of poverty and hunger, connecting millions from coast to coast. The 2017 Women’s March became one of the largest single-day demonstrations in U.S. history, inspiring new levels of civic participation across generations. Most recently, the No Kings protests have continued that legacy, proving that when citizens stand together peacefully in defense of democracy, our voices can still shape the nation’s direction.
Defending What Democracy Demands
The “No Kings” movement began as a warning against unchecked power. Today, it has grown into a defense of democratic rights themselves. Protesters are standing up not only to resist overreach but to protect freedom, equality, and truth in civic life.
If peaceful protest is called hate and free speech is dismissed as rebellion, what is left of democracy? These gatherings are about preserving the space where people can disagree, debate, and demand better.
A Quick Word from RWN
At Referral World News, we stand in support of everyone exercising their right to peaceful civic expression. Whether you are marching, volunteering, or simply staying informed, you are part of something bigger: a collective defense of freedom itself.
If you are out there today:
Bring water, snacks, identification, and any other essentials for your safety.
Keep your phone charged and share your location with someone you trust.
Stay calm and grounded. De-escalation protects the message.
Stay aware of attempts to twist the narrative and speak truth when you can.

These protests are not about division. They are about visibility, unity, and the power of people over politics.
RWN has always been about empowerment, both financially and personally, as well as civic. Today is no different. However you show up, you are helping write the next chapter in the story of American democracy.

Neon Dramatically Lowers Bonuses! [Worldwide]
Neon continues to make headlines. And this time, it's bad news for Referral World. Neon has dramatically lowered the bonuses offered for using and referring the app.
Referral bonuses were originally $30 but were lowered to $10 when Neon returned. And yesterday, the bonuses were lowered again to a mere $1 per referral. And call earnings, originally $0.30/minute for calls between Neon members ($0.15 otherwise) have been changed as well. Now, members will only be paid a rate of $0.05 per minute for calls to other Neon members. No earnings for calls otherwise.
The signup bonus, originally $10, already dropped to $3 when the app returned. It's unclear whether it was lowered again (their FAQs still reflect $3 but also incorrectly reflect $10 referral bonuses, which isn't the case).

Hat tip to RWN supporter JC Will for the news tip and screenshots!

Neon Returns: New Rules, Lower Referrals, and a Fresh Start!
https://www.referralworldnews.com/neon
Neon is officially back on both Android and iOS, just a few weeks after being taken offline following a major data-exposure incident. Most users who were owed bonuses from before the shutdown have now been paid, and the app has rolled out a new update with changes to how calls and referrals work.
The most significant changes relate to how you can earn bonuses. Referral bonuses have been lowered from $30 to $10. New users now earn a $3 welcome bonus after making an hour's worth of calls. And you can still earn up to $30 per day from call activity, but only when both people on the call are Neon members. Calls to non-Neon numbers no longer count for earnings. This change appears to be part of Neon’s new fraud-prevention and privacy system, which also stops recording calls to non-Neon users.
The company says the current payout formula is temporary while they finalize a more permanent system. Both the FAQ and Terms of Service were updated this week, and the Android app listing confirms the new Neon-to-Neon call rule. The iOS version is live again as well.
If you were paid your owed bonuses, consider that a win. If you still have the app on your phone, ensure you have the latest app version before making or receiving calls so that your activity tracks correctly. Keep an eye on your account for any missed call credits and report issues quickly.
Neon seems to be taking a more cautious approach this time, focusing on privacy, verified users, and limiting abuse. Whether that helps them rebuild trust will depend on how transparent and consistent they are in the weeks ahead.
Neon's referral links are unique to each recipient. If you'd like to sign up, email your phone number to [email protected] so I can send you the link and info.

SnapThePrice Goes Viral: $735 Earned and Counting! [US]
https://www.referralworldnews.com/go/snaptheprice
SnapThePrice has already gone viral in Referral World since I first shared it last week. It’s already become one of my top new earners, with over $735 in bonuses so far and growing fast. This Chrome extension pays users to shop smarter, while also offering easy signup and referral bonuses! You’ll receive a $5 signup bonus and an additional $5 once you install the extension (for a total of $10), plus unlimited $5 referral bonuses for every person you invite. You can also earn up to $1 per day by simply using the app and interacting with its built-in AI shopping assistant. It compares prices in real-time across major stores, including Amazon, Walmart, and Target.
To unlock your bonuses, you must stay active in the app for 10 days. This is easily accomplished by searching for a product name/type/URL you’re shopping for, or by chatting with the AI tool. Every interaction counts toward your activity requirement to unlock earned signup and referral bonuses, and also earns you daily activity bonuses.
Once you reach $20 or more, you can cash out to your choice of PayPal or Amazon gift cards.
SnapThePrice is still new with huge earlybird earnings potential. More info in my featured post here.
MoneyLion Continues to Roar! [Ends 10/21; US]
https://www.referralworldnews.com/go/moneylion - code $55BONUS
MoneyLion remains my top referral app, thanks to its consistent and straightforward bonus structure. Now through 10/21, new users receive a $10 signup bonus simply by opening a free RoarMoney checking account, with no deposit or spending required. You can also unlock the $50 deposit bonus by making a $100 direct deposit or transferring $100 from Current or Found.
MoneyLion's bonuses typically post nightly like clockwork. According to their terms, however, bonuses can take up to 14 days to be posted. There appears to be a delay right now, possibly coinciding with the start of this new, increased promotion. If you’re signing up or referring right now, bonuses are still being tracked and will be posted once the queue clears. I’ve seen the same situation a few times over the years, and every time, MoneyLion has caught up without missing a single payout.
The Referral Rush promotion remains active through October 21. More info in my featured post here, and you can find more great banking bonuses in my list here.
Rakuten’s $50 Bonuses are Still Live! [US, CAN]
https://www.referralworldnews.com/go/rakuten
Rakuten’s $50 signup and referral promotion is still going strong, even though it was originally expected to end on September 30. The bonus jumped from $30 to $50 last month and remains active with no posted expiration date. If you haven’t joined yet, you can sign up, make a $50+ qualifying purchase within 90 days, and earn a $50 bonus. You’ll also receive unlimited $50 referral rewards for each friend who does the same. The offer is open to new members in the U.S. and Canada.
A few easy ways to hit the $50 purchase requirement include:
SoFi – $250 bonus when you open an account and make a $500+ direct deposit within 45 days
NordVPN – Up to 77% off plus 3 extra months, and 20% cashback through Rakuten
Adidas – Up to 12% cashback
Rakuten partners with more than 3,500 retailers, including Target, Lowe’s, and Walmart, so it’s easy to trigger your bonus on everyday shopping. This is one of the most consistent referral and cashback programs around, and it continues to pay reliably month after month.
More info in my featured post here.
Acorns "Refer 3, Get $725" Promo! [Ends 10/19; US]
https://www.referralworldnews.com/go/acorns
Acorns just started a great new promotion: $5 signup bonus when you sign up for Acorns and invest $5 by 10/19. $5 referral bonuses as well, and if you refer three people by 10/19 who complete these same steps, you'll earn another $725 ($745 in total)!
Note that Acorns charges a monthly $3 fee after your first 30 days. Should you choose to, you can cancel once you withdraw your bonuses; however, I recommend keeping them, as they frequently offer generous referral bonuses. I've earned thousands from Acorns from promotions just like this one.
Please ensure you complete all steps when signing up. Each week, I'll get at least one person who signs up but doesn't invest the $5 to trigger the signup and referral bonuses. The key things to remember: Sign up, verify your identity, invest $5, and leave it in until you receive your bonus from Acorns. Also, note that Acorns has a $3 monthly subscription charged after the first 30 days.
