Did you ask? Nope. Here it is anyway.
Who is she? I was born and raised on Long Island, NY (we don't say "in") and lived there 42 years (honorable mention to Queens, NY, Dunwoody, GA and Crown Heights, Brooklyn sprinkled in those years). I then tried North Carolina which never quite felt like home thanks to the common phrase "Go Home Yankee" despite not being an MLB player and my deep roots in the state (it was home to my great-grandmother amongst other distant relatives) North Carolina lasted almost 8 years and now I'm living in the mountains of Puerto Rico.
Why Puerto Rico? For starters, my husband is Puerto Rican. His father was born here and moved back with his mom (A Nuyorican) when they both retired. Add to that I have two adult children from my first marriage...to a Puerto Rican (I promise none of this is on purpose). We started visiting in 2007 & it left its mark so much so that we began dreaming of also moving to the island but had no idea how. Somehow in my 50th year, the planets aligned and here we are!
Now What? My desire to create again was awakened the first morning I woke up and watched the sun rise up over the mountains. I take Spanish courses and began playing with the camera. I want to share the beauty of the island, the people, the culture. I know I'm one in a sea of photographers and writers but I hope to stand out in some way.
Fun Fact. I despise having my photo taken. Is there a photo of myself in this post and on my profile? Yes. But that is just so you can see the face behind this whole "thing". It will be the last unless I am joined by someone that can take the focus off me.
