Pewsey Vale vs Ludgershall Sports

Pewsey Vale vs Ludgershall Sports

Sep 06, 2023

This Tuesday evening I travelled along with Grassroots Live to Pewsey Vale, a Large Village which is in the middle of nowhere really in Wiltshire.

This was actually my second visit to Pewsey. The last time was at least a decade ago though where Warminster were playing away, back when both sides played in the Wessex League first division.

Ludgershall Sports were the visiting opposition on what was a very balmy evening. Not quite teams at polar opposite ends of the table, but the home side were certainly the favourites to win!
It was a good game to watch with both sides creating good chances. Despite the Ludgershall having the first big chance of the game and forcing a good stop from the Pewsey keeper, it would be the home side to strike first with Samuel Francis' absolute thunderbolt of a strike from 25 yards finishing up in the top left corner!

The second half saw much of the same. A valiant fighting spirit from Ludgershall but Pewsey played well across the pitch and managed to thwart most of Ludgershall's attacks who did looked dangerous on the break! Francis again finished the scoring early in the second period, another strike from 25 yards, this time a daisy cutter which nestled into the bottom left corner.
An entertaining game on a pleasant evening.

PVFC 2 - 0 LSFC the final score.

Many thanks to Pewsey Vale for their generous hospitality
