We all have days that are poignant. Those anniversaries of things we wish never had happened and the memory of that day stays with us whether we like it or not.
December 2nd is one of those days in our family. A day that changed us all, individually and collectively.
Do we mark the day we changed forever or do we let it slide by? Often we go into ourselves on days like this because actually acknowledging the pain we went through something becomes so triggering and so overwhelming we don't know what to do with it.
Today I am going to acknowledge it and then carry on. Because that's what they would have done and mimicry is the sincerest form of flattery.
