And as we honour those men & women who made the greatest sacrifice I think also about those people from the world over that stood against fascism not because they had to but because they wanted to.

Over two and a half million Indian men volunteered for service, producing the largest volunteer army in history.
People from all over the world and of all faiths fought to ensure our freedoms today.

It's remarkable that today, as ever was, it's the people on the ground that pay the price whilst the theatre of war continues to create division, displacement, hate and mistrust whilst those that direct proceedings suffer little and gain everything.

They may sow the seeds, but let us make sure we grow them with love not the hate they create.
