Reclaiming Joy

Reclaiming Joy

Jun 12, 2022

From my blue armchair, I have found, once more, the joy of the wind in the leaves of the trees, the flicker of a candle flame, the crackling of the fire blazing, the smell of coffee in my favourite mug, the gentle beat of the music through the speaker.

I have found solidity in my body on the yoga mat, the regulation of my being from feeling the cold tiles beneath my bare feet.

I have found joy and vision and passion and calm from my blue armchair.

I have found surrender, compassion, empathy, neutrality and contentment.

I have found understanding, connection, curiosity and happiness from stillness.

A slowing down, an intentional moment of doing nothing but by "being" in the everything.

And yet there is the familiar pull to the rushing and doing but to that I say "Be still my child, this is no race, there is no finish line, only that of the end of our time so hush a little, be still, breathe and soak it all in and know that no breath can be taken in the past or future but only in the present and what a gift that can be..."
