Why choose YouTube?

Why choose YouTube?

I’ve been uploading content on different social media platforms and I find YouTube as my main go-to in uploading my content online. I’ll give my top 3 reasons why I choose YouTube over the others.

Community

I love the quality of the community you can build inside the YouTube space. This is because of how the YouTube algorithm works.

People with the same interest in the things you create, upload, or share will most likely click the subscribe button, comment on your video, hit the like button, or share your content with their friends. In this way, you have a common denominator of which you can talk about online, it may be inside or outside YouTube.

This is why I’m a fan of organic growth inside this platform. Organic means they’re really interested in your content. Engagement with them is fruitful and insightful at the same time.

Content Shelf Life

YouTube is like Google Search — they’re both search engine platforms. Meaning, people go to these websites to search for something. It’s not dependent on the time you uploaded your content but on its searchability.

It doesn’t matter if you uploaded those videos 1 year from now, they will still appear on YouTube’s search page as long as its keywords are well optimized.

As an example, this video of mine was uploaded last May 5, 2021, almost a year from the time I’m writing this article is still garnering views! What’s interesting is its traffic source — YouTube search.

See, as long as you optimized your keywords, it will be searched or even suggested by YouTube itself — like this video uploaded last November 15, 2020.

Monetization Programs

YouTube has a variety of ways for you to be able to get money aside from the ads that were playing inside your videos. One of which is Super Chats.

These Super Chats were made for your supporters to give back to you, a very hard-working content creator. Sometimes our subscribers/supporters really want to give financial assistance to us content creators it might be big or small.

This allows us to do more content aside from the budget that we have personally, giving us a wider space for creative executions.

Super Chats are just one of many monetization programs that YouTube has to offer. They also have membership plans, super thanks (applicable to some), and super stickers. YouTube milestones are also great for you to get brand deals and get free stuff or money from them.

Given all of the financial support that your supporters and brands can give you, we still need to go back to the core thing of why we’re doing this for us to keep moving forward. Money alone cannot be our source of inspiration and motivation.

We must be fueled by our passion. To give our subscribers the quality content that they’re getting from the time we’re grinding without getting any money and now that we get some.
