Sid is still without a school…
We rely heavily on an outreach support service, which is allowing me to get to work most days. We still have the constant worry of a call (a few weeks ago, we had to leave work to collect him from his 2 support staff as he had trashed their car and blacked an eye 😩), thankfully that isn’t too regular though, so we plough forth.
Sid is in the process of being assessed for ADHD now, which will help us develop further as a family with him if he gets the diagnosis.
Durham County have worked to get him into an educational setting, and last week, Claire and I visited a school to discuss potential of Sid becoming a pupil of theirs. Outcome, to work collaboratively with the outreach provision to support a transition. We understand this will be a long, laborious, process, but we understand, that if Sid’s placement has any chance of being successful, it depends on his resilience and the support he receives.
