We run a small theater in Prague, and from time to time we do improv radio shows. And when you're broadcasting, you're on air. I was really missing the kind of "On Air" sign that's well-known from big radio and TV studios, so I decided to hop on Thingiverse and start making one.
It wasn't enough to just make a sign, though. I wanted it to be interactive and part of the show. So my first model had a remote control with RGB LEDs. This was fun, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. I wanted something that could be integrated into our full light show setup.
That's how I came up with my latest model. It uses a DMX controller, which means that it can be synchronized with all of our other lights and effects. This makes it a seamless part of the show, and it really helps to create a professional look.
