Building MessageDrop as an independent developer

May 20, 2026

MessageDrop is not built by a large company or a big product team.
It is an independent project that I develop step by step with a lot of time, curiosity, and care.

The idea behind MessageDrop has grown over time:
What if digital content was not just pushed through endless feeds, but connected to real places?
What if an app could combine local discovery, private memories, useful information, and personal communication — while still putting privacy first?

That question gradually became MessageDrop.

Building an app like this means working on many very different things:

🗺️ Interactive maps and location-based features
💬 Private communication and connections
🔐 Encryption and privacy-friendly data handling
🌤️ Weather and air quality information
🎟️ Local experiences and discovery tools
📱 A responsive web app that works across devices
🧩 Design, testing, infrastructure, and all the small details in between

Some days are about building visible new features.
Other days are about fixing bugs, improving performance, writing legal texts, making the app more accessible, or solving technical problems that users will hopefully never notice.

That is part of what I enjoy about the project: MessageDrop is creative, technical, and constantly evolving.

Your support here helps me continue developing it independently — covering server costs, tools, testing, and the many hours that go into turning an idea into a real product.
