I'm driven by the joy of creating and exploring new things. I may not be the brightest person in the room, but I've learned that curiosity and persistence can take you pretty far. What makes me happiest is that spark of inspiration that leads you down a new rabbit hole—the drive to learn something just because it fascinates you.
Over the years, I've dove into an eclectic mix of pursuits: pyrotechnics and chemistry, adrenaline sports like skydiving and rock climbing, motorcycles and horses, building computer networks, brewing everything from beer to mead to wine (even learning from some top winemakers in Idaho). Most of these adventures were purely for the thrill of mastering something new, though my tech career has been the practical one that keeps the family fed.
I suppose I really am a Jack of all trades—whether my parents named me prophetically or I just grew into it, I've embraced the identity. Sure, I'm spread wide rather than deep in most areas, but there's something satisfying about being the person who can troubleshoot your network, recommend a wine pairing, and explain why that firework made that particular color all in the same conversation.
