Since the story I am currently writing is a work of science fiction, I have to greatly rely on my imagination. I love creating and imagining things as is typical and expected with many writers of fiction. And yet, I am pondering or maybe overthinking, how are some concepts going to work in my world?
For instance, teleportation exists in my story. It is very relevant as nearly everyone uses it. I want to make my world and the things that exist in this world believable.
Using teleportation as an example, I ask myself the following questions:
Would driving cars still be relevant with the existence of teleportation?
Do people have to pay to teleport long distances or at all?
There is indeed a great deal of research to be done when writing science fiction. I am doing some research on theories of how various concepts of science fiction (teleportation, telepathy, invisibility, etc.) would be possible. With the information I can find, I will make how it exists in my world, my own. That is what I am going to strive to do.
Happy writing!
