National Literary-Memorial Museum of Hryhorii Skovoroda.

Hryhorii Skovoroda (1722-1794) was an outstanding Ukrainian philosopher, poet and teacher. He went down in history as a symbol of Ukrainian philosophy, and because of his way of life he was called Socrates.

In his travels, Skovoroda searched for answers to questions that will never lose their relevance: what is the meaning of life and what is happiness. Skovoroda's works were not published during his lifetime due to russian censorship, but he passed on his knowledge to the students of the Kharkiv Collegium.

Hryhorii spent the last year of his life in the village of Pan-Ivanivka (now this place is named after the philosopher - Skovorodinovka), Kharkiv region. The place that became Skovoroda's last home and place of death in 1972 became a museum in his honor. Several thousand exhibits were kept there, telling about the life of this brilliant and mysterious man. Before the start of the war by russia, restoration work was carried out in the museum in preparation for the 300th anniversary of Skovoroda.

On May 6, a russian missile hit the building, after which a large fire broke out.

From under the rubble, it was possible to get the statue of the poet, and the most valuable exhibits at the time of the attack were in a safe place. From the building itself, only the outer walls remained.

The russian ministry of defense, in its report, said that the airstrike was carried out on “Skovorodnikovo”, where the military command post was allegedly located.
