Thanks so much! Nels Coudal is the grandfather of Jim Coudal, founder of Field Notes brand notebooks. He’s the source of the quote that FN uses as its slogan. I couldn’t find a better link than the one I used that explained it any more clearly. (It was also the link suggested by Jim Coudal, who also suggested the quote!)
