V6 Nozzle Piggy Bank

V6 Nozzle Piggy Bank

I finally decided to design something that has been on my mind for a long time. Since I frequently change the nozzle on my printer, I thought why isn't the nozzle made into a coin bank prop? It is a good print to showcase the most essential component of 3D printing, all while you can insert any loose change you have. The print time is long but well worth it.

My model is found here: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/86533-v6-nozzle-coin-bank

The tolerances on this print are tight and with good reason. The L-shaped slot is for locking the head on the body. Simply insert the head along the slots - all the way down, then twist to lock into place. Simple but effective. Supports are needed for the slots, however, they don't start from the build plate. So supports used very little material.

The nozzle is meant to fit the US quarter. The print can be laid on either end if the topmost surfaces are ironed. And the inside is very spacious holding ~490 mL inside.

I used silk PLA for this print, but I'm sure PETG would work as well since no overhang is > 45 degrees.

And that's all there is to it with this print. Let me know if you decide to print it out! I went through so many iterations of this design (countless test prints), mostly finding a way to open and close this thing with ease, so any support is appreciated.

Happy printing!
