Instinctively Wild - is a CIC - Community Interest Company, began in 2008.

We are a company that does not have shares or shareholders. Instead we have an asset lock - that means that if we wind up - we give any monies, tools, resources to a named third sector organisation. In our case that is the Green Team in Edinburgh.
Although we are ‘non-profit’ that does not mean we do not or are not interested in making a profit. On the contrary we definitely need to make a profit- the profit pays the running costs, the insurance, web hosting, accountants fee, Companies House, equipment maintenance etc. etc.
We usually generate the profit from charging ‘Full Cost Recovery’ on contracted and grant funding applications. This varies between sectors; Public (Schools, NHS etc) 20%, Third (other charities, voluntary groups, other CIC) 10%, Private - anywhere from 40-100% - depends on the size/turnover). Grant applications - 20%.
Our overheads are low. We do not have staff, have an office or vehicle. All Directors work as volunteers for behind the scenes - admin work from home. We only get paid when we are delivering sessions. Sessions that have an income for.
Any donation you make will be greatly received. It will only be used for furthering the aims of Instinctively Wild CIC.
