If you’ve ever heard the phrase “talk the talk, but don’t walk the walk,” then you already understand the heart of 1 John 3. John is asking us: Is your faith all talk, or does it have feet?

John knows how easy it is to say we love others. It’s simple to throw out a kind word or two and move on with our lives. But that’s not what God calls us to do. Love is not lip service. It’s a lifestyle.
In verse 18, John gets practical: "My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." That’s faith with feet! It’s not enough to feel loving or think loving thoughts. True love is proven by what we do.
The truth is, loving others can be inconvenient. It might mean going out of your way, giving up your time, or even sacrificing something for someone else. But that’s the kind of love God showed us, and that’s the kind of love we’re called to walk in.
So, ask yourself: how can I walk out love today? Maybe it’s serving someone who doesn’t expect it or forgiving that person who hurt you. Whatever it is, let your love get moving.
