Introducing: Rachel Siegel - May

Where can we find you right now and what are you up to?

I’m currently in my favorite coffee shop in Koreatown, Los Angeles, trying to be louder, weirder, and more authentically myself than ever. I have some beautiful collaborators who are deeply involved in my process right now, however my circle is small. I’m finding the answers I need from going deeper rather than wider, being reminded how to trust myself and that I have everything I need.

Tell us a bit about your influences.

Bonnie Tyler, Blodie, Donna Summer and Linda Ronstadt are some women who’ve been rocking my world and helping me find language for the next era of Rachel Siegel.

How did you start?

I started singing before I started talking! I grew up in a small town, in southern New Jersey, and music was how I related to everything around me. It’s something I’ve carried with me in every season, no matter where I go.

How will artists be influenced by the rapid change in technology in the future in your opinion? What will change?

It's wild to see the focus shift from making impactful music to making viral music. I think music is suffering, because the best things take time, but I'm so hopeful that we're finding our way.

What obstacles does an emerging artist have to face in our time?

There’s so much noise! As an independent artist, it can feel challenging staying true to myself and trying to compete with everything I see people doing to gain attention. I’m definitely trying to lean into authenticity, being as loudly myself as possible, and trust the process.

In what way, in your opinion, could someone get real fans?

I think as I genuinely share my story, I get to connect with so many of my beautiful fans that are going through the same things. It’s beautiful to realize we’re not alone and, for me, that’s what builds relationship with real fans.

What are your goals? Where do you see yourself in five years?

In Five years you’ll find me selling out Madison Square Garden. I’ll see you there. ;)

What is your favorite movie? What would you suggest to our readers?

It’s a strong 3-way-tie between 10 Things I Hate About You, The 100-Foot Journey, and Devil Wears Prada. I Love them all for different reasons but the characters are amazing in all three!

Tell us about your latest or upcoming release.

My Latest single, My Revenge, came out on April 26, 2024! I’m still buzzing! My Revenge marks an entire new era for my music and artistry. This isn’t just a break up song, it’s a femme fatale anthem. It’s me picking myself bravely, completely, and I can’t believe I finally get to share it with you all!
